Copper is an important metal found in the earth and mined right here in Salt Lake City! The UMFA features many artworks made of copper, including Onishi Yasuaki’s large-scale installation, "Stone on Boundary," and Ximena Garrido-Lecca’s "Modulations – Sequence VI." Get inspired by copper artists, then twist and model copper wire to create our own mini sculpture!

Please note that this event takes place in the Children’s Library and is meant for families with children only. Adults are welcome at all other UMFA workshops. Check out Third Saturday for Families, Open Studio for Adults, or Drop-in Drawing Disco events this summer!
